Scanning with ALIA

Welcome!

In this document, you'll find links to Basic , Advanced , and Background information about scanning with the ALIA programs on the CASB GAMMA microdensitometers.

New utility: check_scan Type the name of this utility on a pixel 1 or 2 window in order to get an update on the current status and estimated completion time of a scan in progress.

New plate type supported: GR plates will now properly select sag focussing and spot scanning in the lower right corner.

No-longer-new-but-still-very-useful procedure: Single channel scanning now works! Just add /nchan=1 to your select_scan command line. (And don't do a shading scan...) See Nonstandard Scanning for detailed instructions for performing 25 micron single channel scans.
